Reaching Chandrataal is not difficult at all, as the path is a motorable road and you can reach the lake in your vehicle only. If you wish to trek, you can trek via Hampta Pass Route.
However, it is considered among offbeat treks in Himachal as it is located in wilderness of Spiti Mountains. You will also not find any kind of dhaba on the way to the lake. Be prepared to pitch a tent and cook your own food. The experience will however be worth remembering for life.
June to mid October is the best time to plan a visit to Chandrataal Lake. However, travelling is group is advised as the region is remote.
